2/28/12 The Winter Weather Blast
I have been slightly disappointed to this point, but hopefully I can wake up tomorrow and not have to go to class... Earlier today we had warm temperatures, reaching up to 36ºF and winds from the SE. The winds from the SE has brought up warm moist air, and that is colliding with the Low pressure system moving in overnight. There has already been a 1-3 inches of snow laid down on us, then there was a nice period of freezing rain, and more snow is falling now with the temperature barely below 32ºF. Throughout the day the barometric pressure has been constantly dropping as the system moves toward us. Overnight the winds will pick up, as will the temperature, there will be an ice and snow mixture overnight and tomorrow you can expect the wintery mix to continue as the temperatures reach into the 40's.
